WHAT GEESE CAN’T FLY? Leaving their homeland in hopes of finding a better life, the Vieira family faces the inherent prejudice that comes with being outsiders and different in America. At a cultural crossroads with the world they left behind and the one they now call home, the story of their struggles is told in three acts through the faces of three siblings-John, Fatima and Grace.- John is constantly beat up at school, shamed and ridiculed by bullies for not being American.- Fatima becomes desperately lonely for her home and friends back in the Azores. – Grace, the youngest, grows up stuck between two cultures, shouldering the weight of everyone’s expectations of fulfilling the American dream.
