The Secret of Red Gate Farm

A mysterious clerk in a perfume shop, a troubled young girl, a curious man on a train and a strange code are catalysts for Nancy’s visit to Red Gate Farm with Bess and George. While vacationing at the picturesque farm, the young sleuth encounters a cult organization known as the Black Snake Colony. When accused of deliberately passing counterfeit money, Nancy sets forth to find the counterfeiters. During her investigation, she ponders the odd activities of the Black Snake Colony members who have rented land from Red Gate Farm’s owner. Her discovery of the true nature of the cult’s activities leads Nancy and her friends into an exciting adventure. This book is the original text. The plot of the revised story (©1961) is similar with minor revisions.
