Terry Burrows is a long haul trucker on his way home from Bakersfield, CA when it happens. Solar flares that make the Carrington Event look like child’s’ play wash the sky in blinding, white light and all at once, the world as he knew it comes to a stop.

Two-hundred and fifty miles from home, Terry takes to the road on foot, his truck forever stalled on the Interstate. He hopes to find his family on the other side of his journey but finds a lot more than he bargained for. A new faction has risen to power, claiming his hometown and the people in it.
After reuniting with his family, he hatches a plan for a dangerous escape, their only chance for a life free of the New Patriots’ crushing boot.
