This is a well-explained book on statistics for business. The focus is on teaching the learner how to use statistics to make better business decisions, rather than making the learner memorize a large number of formulas. The first half gives detailed explanations of statistical terms and concepts. It also gives good advice on what the most appropriate type of graph to use is for a given purpose. The rest of the book goes into detail (in words, not mathematics) of basic statistics. What is unique about the book, even for someone like me who have done many statistics courses, is that he goes into great care to explain what the measurements mean for Practical purposes. Most books will just give you formulas and rather simplistic explanations of what the measures actually mean (in words) and what their practical use is. This is not a book to get if you want to learn a large number of formulas. It is however a very good book to use as supplement to a more mathematically rigorous textbook, for revision, or for those who just want to learn the most important and useful parts of statistics. I really liked this book ,the explanations are clear and the writing style is very engaging. My only negative comment is that I would have liked abit more mathematics.
