Through the flames, life will thrive, or it will die. It’s a saying I’ve always been raised on. I never understood it. I see it every day in those around me, but never truly got it. That is until through the flames he rescued me. Stranded in the middle of nowhere, I’m left wondering where to go from here. My life’s a mess and now it’s even more so. I dare not call home, it’ll only cause problems. When I keep running into my savior, I can’t help but feel the burns that aren’t truly there. Because of him, I’m alive, but am I really? The quote I was raised on always pops in my head when he’s around and I can’t help but wonder why. Could he be the reason I never understood it? Maybe he’s flames that decide whether or not I live or die.
