The rapid convergence of advanced technologies is leading us inexorably towards a future event of unprecedented importance. Futurists refer to this catalyzing event as, “The Singularity”. This event will have a profound effect upon the human condition. Can this event fundamentally change what it means to be human? The foundations for the philosophy known as transhumanism have been laid out before us, and there is mounting evidence that suggests that perhaps we have been engineered as a society towards the capitulation to this new philosophical “science”. Has the human mind been physiologically tampered with to pave the way for the post-human era? Could the exponential rise in neurological diversity be a symptom of this process?
