I did NOT enjot this book at all. As an actor McEwan is in my top 3 favorites of all time, he should stick to that and only be an author on the big screen. The lack of civility and empathy in true friendships just does NOT exist. Selfishness is a human flaw, but not a variable between friends. I realize this is fiction, but should fiction leave a reader depressed? I don’t think so.
