The wizard series is a spin off of Stasheff”s popular Warlock series involving a revolutionary named Magnus. The reason this book is critical to the series is its where he meets his companion for his adventures Alea. Meeting her in a very Dr Who style he saves her and takes her traveling with him as they attempt to free planets from oppressive rule. A good tale in and of itself it is probably the most important book in the series before he returns home in The Warlocks Last Ride.
