A tornado hits Pinkerton, and a week later, three boys find a house burned to the ground and a girl’s dead body. The boys are attacked, and only one escapes, bringing back into town an unbelievable story. Telling the tale to Sheriff Boggs, the Sheriff needs to decide if the story is a hoax. Others in town hear the story, draw their own conclusions, and begin to panic with two boys missing. A search is formed. Prejudices are voiced. The Sheriff needs to find answers before people take the law into their own hands. The Sheriff is a man of reason. But, when Major Noah Sears joins the investigation, he shows behaviors beyond the Sheriff’s beliefs. And the possibility that all is not as it seems to be begins to reveal itself.
