The awful killing of George Floyd is simply the latest of a spate of violence toward people of color in the US. The brutality captured on video is clear evidence that the sickness of racism, which has greatly infected our dear country, still persists today. We may at times see visible signs that racism and bigotry are subsiding, but these signs are usually short-lived or are merely symbolic. The numerous protests and unfortunate police brutality that have spread across the US and within the black community, represent a collective revulsion and opposition toward racism and police abuse.
