The Search for Kracks is the second volume in the Linda Eccles Series that began with The Chance Encounter. It has been three years since Captain Linda Eccles lost her job with UMU and command of the Privateer. Now commanding a short-range freighter through the Shipping Guild, she once again contemplates retirement. Unknown to Linda, the buoy recovered after her encounter with the Kracks has begun to spill its secrets. Earth Defense is ready to return to find the Kracks and try to communicate with them.
