This book debunks one of the greatest political lies in understanding post-war British imperialism, the notion of America’s poodle. Debunking the Myth of America’s Poodle shows that one can trace back the beginnings of contemporary British imperialism to the reign of Elizabeth I and her pirates. The loot of the pirates provided the springboard for England to search for treasures in India. Having established itself in India, Britain rolled out its Indian mode of governance to other parts of the world, including the Middle East where it greatly helped to create the Zionist colonial project in Palestine and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The book totally rejects and refutes the unquestioned assumption that contemporary British imperialism is simply an adjunct to American imperial foreign policy. This assumption is jubilantly referred to as a special relationship by its supporters; by its detractors it is disparagingly depicted as America’s poodle.
