#### Hard science fiction written by a Ph.D. physicist, with a heavy dose of sociopolitical satire.
IRCSIC 1 is humanity’s first International Rotating Cylindrical Spaceship for Interstellar Colonization. It is in year 714 of its 1,320-year flight to Alpha Centauri Bf. Its 2,500 passengers must manage its self-sustaining ecosystem and govern themselves autonomously. It is a time of political turmoil onboard IRCSIC 1. Mayor Mission Slaughter believes that his re-election victory over Loyalty Chen gives him the mandate to end IRCSIC 1’s democracy and become a dictator. Loyalty’s daughter, Hope, is asked to deliver secret messages between their family and the O’Briens, another prominent family in the pro-democracy resistance. This would require Hope to pretend that she is dating Heed O’Brien, who happens to be the hottest boy at her high school. Hope selflessly accepts this covert assignment.
