Swarm Intelligence

In this book we present the fundamentals of swarm intelligence, from classic algorithms to emerging techniques. In this approach we seek to present both solid and comprehensive theoretical foundations and examples using the main computational intelligence libraries, in programming languages such as Python, Java and Matlab. Real-world applications are also presented, in areas as diverse as Medicine, Biology and industrial applications. The book is divided in three parts. In the first part, Particle Swarm Optimization and Swarm Intelligence Basics, we present an introduction to swarming algorithms and hybrid techniques. In the second part, Swarm Intelligence Applications, we present real applications of swarm intelligence, seeking to illustrate how swarm algorithms can be used in applications of optimization and pattern recognition. In the third and final part, Coding Swarm Intelligence Algorithms, we present tutorials of swarm intelligence libraries in Python, Java, Matlab and C ++–
