Heather and Heartache

Every day I help others achieve their happily ever after. Day after day, loving partners come to my store and request blooms for the ones they love. I can’t help but wonder if their lives will ever be mine. After being left at the altar by the person I thought was the one, life has never returned to normal or gotten back on track.
Two years later, I’m still lost. My life is spent working and breathing. I’ve never recovered from his betrayal. This new adventure is unexpected. A chance to experience something different and new, while keeping something that is mine. Moving from the bustling city of New York to a small island in Scotland may seem extreme, but to me it is necessary.
I need change, and I need it now. I can’t go on being the lonely sullen woman I’ve become. Now, sitting in the plane waiting for it to rise into the air, I wonder what the future holds. Will what I’m searching for be waiting for me? Or in three months’ time, when I return home, will nothing have changed?
