After the grisly death of her husband, Jack, bookish Gertie won a lawsuit and became the sole caretaker for their daughter, June. Now fabulously wealthy, she spends her days managing her daughter’s fancy private school PTA as its president, and engaging in elaborate acts of sabotage against any opponent she encounters. With June in her junior year, she knows she’ll have to leave her position sooner or later. Lucky for Gertie, a position on the school board opens up. The longer that the two of them live together, the more that Gertie’s feelings for Bea evolve, but unfortunately, that doesn’t mean they’re free from harm. Bea’s abusive ex-husband Westley visits, and Gertie, gradually descending into madness, kills him to protect her new family. During a confrontation at a political function, Gertie ruins the reputation of her PTA colleague, Misty. After a grieving Trevor tries to assault June, Gertie kills him, but when Earl demands a massive payment, she murders him too. When Bea discovers her dismantling the body, Gertie tearfully admits her original plans for revenge. The two reconcile, and Gertie ascends to power in front of an excited audience.
